i would like to point out that there is, in fact, a very important lesson to be found in this whole Twitter clusterfuck, and that lesson is: don't do cocaine.
@adrienne sure feels like elon watched the freenode implosion and said to rasengan "you're like a little baby, watch this"
@adrienne I always assumed him to be a weed user instead.
@Oktokolo i think he does weed sometimes, but there is absolutely no question that he is also abusing stimulants. Can i say with 100% certainty that it's cocaine specifically? No, but it's definitely my best guess.
@adrienne I've been gleaning from Infowars a similar premise, which is 'stimulants let you do a bad job SO much faster'
@Talen_Lee Stimulants are extremely useful but a) overusing them causes trouble VERY quickly, and b) cocaine in particular is extremely dose-dependent, and doing too much turns you into a raging narcissist maniac.
@Talen_Lee Like cocaine is very specifically "do you want to feel like God, and incidentally destroy every single human relationship you've ever had? Take this!" drug.

@adrienne I worked at a dotcom back in the 90s and the people in my department had a strong culture of weed and rave drugs on the weekends, and you never saw any substances at work (with the exception of a mass bunking off one Friday afternoon to watch Babe: Pig in the City.)

Then they hired a coke user and the whole department just fell apart. I transferred out in two weeks and watched from a distance. It was terrible.

@mikej Yeahhhhhh. I have a lot of friends who've done a lot of drugs; without exception they've all tried cocaine once, or maybe twice, and gone "not for me!"

Which i'm pretty sure is why they're still my friends.

@adrienne or — and bear with me now — just maybe the answer is to do substantially more cocaine
