At 45, my first screenplay was optioned. 48 got my first TV writing job. 50–after 26 years searching—found my biological family.
Now, 54, an original story & script I co-wrote was nominated for 11 Emmy’s. And I wrote a novel.
Fuck the haters. You’re never too old, it’s never too late. Keep going.

@Minster12 wow, that’s awesome. Yeah, I’ve had stories in my mind that I’ve been wanting to write for over a decade at this point, but no haters involved. I just have little confidence that I can write outside of my own voice, such as writing dialogue for a different age or gender character.
@craigwesleysf @Minster12 I couldn't finish 'On Beauty' because I didn't think Zadie Smith was all that good at capturing American dialogue. Clearly, I'm in the minority, ha. All goes to show that you can't please everyone, and that you don't even NEED to in order to be successful.
@eijmitchell @Minster12 In reality if I write anything, my expectation would literally be for maybe 1-2 people to actually read it so there's really nothing to lose except time, though time, IMO, is our most important resource.
