Chinese #rocket sheds tiles during launch
@stux it’s just a little airborne, it’s still good..

@stux errrrrrrrrrrrr....

ISN'T THAT FREACKING DANGEROUS?!

@stux That’s crazy. Are there people on board?
@stux according to some reddit folks these are parts of a temporary isolation layer (and/or ice particles) required only shortly before launch. nothing to worry about. (grain of salt etc.)
@stux That is normal. It's just ice from the cryogenic propellant
@stux woah, I wasn’t expecting that much
@stux oh lawd. the reentry will be a mess.
@stux They are thermal insulation panels, made from materials like styrofoam. They're designed to fall off. Here's Scott Manley explaining the theory behind it all: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fn-2Fd0e2RY
What Is This Debris Falling Off The Sides Of Rockets?

@stux

this might cause some problems...?

@stux of course, its made out of chinese parts
@stux That is probably not good.

@stux That is actually ice. Due to the oxygen and fuel being super-cooled to keep it super compressed moisture from the air on the outside of the ship freezes before launch. So the vibrations of the craft cause it to fall off.

Sorry for the long response I'm just I nerd.
