Back in January of 2020 @[email protected] and I took a vacation (which are far and few between) to Banff. We traveled in January because winter is our slow time. We were driving along the Bow River Parkway on our way to Morant's Curve when we heard a horn in the distance. We drove and hustled and somehow we made it to the famous curve just as this fright train rolled by.

@Gordon1956 May thanks! It was a breathtaking trip.
@Nick_ulivieri It’s breathtaking in summer too.
@Gordon1956 Gorgeous. If (when) we make it back, we'd love to try and get there for the foliage change.
@Nick_ulivieri Western Canada doesn’t have much in the way of fall colour change, it’s more of an eastern Canada phenomena where there are lots is sugar maple, oak, and birch trees. Here’s Algonquin Park, two hours north of Toronto.
@Gordon1956 @Nick_ulivieri Two hours in a Cessna, maybe. 😉
@JeffGeeBrown @Nick_ulivieri Ahh... you're right Jeff. It's 2 hours from where I live.
@Gordon1956 @Nick_ulivieri I thought maybe you knew a secret route. Or had a super fast car. 😆
@Nick_ulivieri
Are the red cars normal, or was that an extra bit of good luck? Great picture!

@gnaddrig I think they're pretty normal. The freight trains that roll by my place in Chicago often have multi-colored boxcars. I heard a lot of photographers go to this spot in hopes of catching a train but not getting so lucky
@Nick_ulivieri @amyulo What a beautiful shot! We've been there in the summer, but nothing so spectacular. Great picture.

I love this photograph. Thank you for sharing.
