Three reasons electing @[email protected] is vital:

1. With voting rights under attack, we need this civil rights champion in the Senate

2. Dems can overcome 50/50 splits in committees — that's crucial for judicial appointments

3. His victory weakens Manchin and Sinema's power

@rbreich OF COURSE it is vital, that Warnock wins. It drives me nuts when I hear/read so called “pundits” who keep saying “the pressure is off”, now that Dems “held” the Senate. It’s as if the last 2 years never happened.🤬🤯
@mona @rbreich
Dems have to keep up the pressure. We live in CA and are doing post cards to the Dem voters in GA urging them to vote.
@rbreich - yeah, cuz Herschel Walker screams qualified individual.
@rbreich would you please use CW: local politics on political posts?
@prawntech3d
Hang on. What do you define as "political"?
Looking back in all the posts @rbreich makes, what would you consider political enough to put in a CW, and what would you consider reasonable to not wrap?
Is what you consider political the same as what everyone else considers political?
What tools might more effectively address this situation? You can mute or block users. You can open the moderation interface and force all their posts to be sensitive.
And yet, you chose to CW police?
@prawntech3d @rbreich
If you think re-electing senator Warnock is local politics, you're missing the point of the post. Which would be fine, if you had just skimmed past it as if you weren't interested.

@rbreich 3a)He is objectively a better candidate and representative of his constituents than his opponent in all respects.

It ain't easy to make a liberal atheist not residing in Georgia enthusiastically back & support a Reverend for public office, but he leapt over the bar pretty handily.

@rbreich WHY ARE DEMOCRATS TOLERATING SINEMA AND MANCHIN? WHY ISN'T THE WHIP STOMPING ON THEIR GUTS? WHY ARE WE NOT EVISCERATING THEIR FUNDING?

In Latin they say, " Qui non discit, placet" - Who does not speak, APPROVES. #pusillanimous #democrats

@rbreich @sodalis 1) Democrats have essentially no leverage over either of the two. 1/3
@rbreich @sodalis 2) Democrats will never, ever move against Manchin. He will be senator from WV as long as he wants to be. If he were not senator from WV, his replacement would with absolute certainty be a Republican. Manchin is a raging egotist, not especially clever, and a ginormously obstructive pain in the arse. 2/3
@rbreich @sodalis But unlike literally everybody who could possibly replace him, Manchin is not (for example) going to vote against a Democratic president’s judicial nominations. Manchin is to senators from WV what democracy is (in Churchill’s famous phrase) to political systems: the worst one possible, except for all the alternatives. 3/5
@rbreich @sodalis 3) Democrats have no leverage over Sinema for a different reason. She’s toast. She will be brutally primaried. And she will lose (if she even bothers running). One presumes that she will, after her single term, attempt to cash in as a lobbyist. But as long as her term lasts, Democrats have nothing to threaten her with and nothing to reward her with. 4/5
@rbreich @sodalis If there really were a just and loving God, there’d be two more Democratic senators than there are. If there were, Manchin and Sinema would be powerless and ignored. They are not, because we don’t have those additional senators. Draw from that whatever theological conclusions you deem appropriate. 5/5
@rbreich And he's proven to be a great Senator.
@rbreich brb... off to ActBlue, again.
@rbreich 4. It will help in 2024 senate election.
& BTW he is great senator!
@rbreich 4. Herschel Walker is the alternative.
@rbreich Warnock needs to win
@rbreich reminder to all: you don’t have to be in the state of Georgia to phone bank for Warnock. Do it as a personal fuck you to Manchin: https://mobilize.us/s/fOzzc4
@rbreich the idea that we would only need to win over ONE, Manchin or Sinema.
@rbreich How about the fact that not considering the Walker factor or the fifty-fifty split in the Senate, the number one reason to vote for ReverendWarnock is that he is a brilliant and intelligent person! Let's not support him to disempower rethuglicans, let's support him because AMERICA NEEDS A GREAT LEADER!
@rbreich I disagree with #3. Manchin and Sinema will still have all the Power and Money they need in the Senate to block whatever the Corporate Powers want and all with Biden's and the DNC's approval.
@rbreich Berkley professor tells us all we need to know about you
@REPUBL @rbreich Bugger off to Truth Social with the rest of the MAGAts, “Thomas”.
Good luck, now!
@rbreich I absolutely. It would also neutralize Manchin or Sinema when it comes to voting on legislation.
@rbreich @votefwd lists 99,000 voters who are available to receive your handwritten (partial form letter) appeal for them to vote. It’s a highly effective method. Hoping some of the fine folks here will check it out and join me. I’ve sent 60 letters so far, goal is 100 by deadline. Go @reverendwarnock

@rbreich

Number 3 seems particularly important considering the number of times #JoeMaanchin and #KyrstenSinema have got in the way of legislation over the last 2 years. The other two points seem vital to a successful 2 years leading up to the 2024 presidential election as well though. I think #Republicans underestimated the effect of reversing #RoeVWade on voters this year tbh. The #RedWave didn't happen because that #SCOTUS decision cause #DemmocratVoters to turn out in droves IMHO.

@rbreich 4. The IQ score of Georgia will immediately rise if Walker decides to leave.
@rbreich 4. Help towards a majority in '24 & '26, as well
@rbreich This is INCREDIBLE to be so close to your voice. So all I've got: Thanks for the tireless and endless effort in helping. Thank you. Not sure where this site is going, but seeing you here is a warm blanket. =)
@rbreich well said! I couldn’t agree more. We need this Georgia seat more then ever.
@rbreich I am amazed Minchin's is there
He's Democrat in name only
He never votes with Dems
In Australia we would send him to the xbench as Independent
I mean WHAT GOOD IS HE IS HE DOESN'T SUPORT HIS PARTY
@rbreich
Thanks, good message
@rbreich Eliminating that 50/50 split is also crucial for enabling committees to initiate investigations, now that the House version of "oversight" is going to be a trainwreck.
@rbreich let's not forget that Walker is just... terrible. He has no redeeming qualities. I mean, I would probably enjoy a beer with W. But Herschel? Even having a beer would be a rough journey.
@rbreich #0 the people of Georgia deserve a good representative, just as anyone elsedoes--but especially the people of Georgia who came through for us for the last Senate!
@rbreich Also because the 2024 senate cycle will be harsh for dems i.e., Jon Tester, Joe Manchin, and Sherrod Brown are all up for election
@rbreich he’s as big a loser as you are a wee brain
@rbreich Re. No. 3: Huffpost article: #Senate #GOP #Republicans will no longer be able to routinely delay votes on the president’s court picks if #Democrats hold a 51-49 majority. https://www.huffpost.com/entry/joe-biden-judges-georgia-senate-race_n_6371b4b9e4b002e882131e02
Joe Biden Can Confirm Even More Judges If Democrats Win Georgia’s Senate Race

Republicans will no longer be able to routinely delay votes on the president’s court picks if Democrats hold a 51-49 majority.

HuffPost
@rbreich And he’s right for the people of Georgia.
@rbreich I can’t believe this race is sooo close what rational , functioning adult votes for a senator that believes he’s a werewolf that was once a vampire ??????
@rbreich don’t worry we got you covered
@rbreich
...and 4) good must triumph over evil.
@rbreich hope we can do this! I already voted!
