My heart breaks for the victims of the Colorado Springs shooting, but AOC isn’t here for hollow expressions of sympathy.

After Lauren Boebert offered “thoughts and prayers” to victims and their families, AOC was quick to call her out for her own culpability in the violence.

The article only asks Biden to work with Ukrain and Russia on a cease fire that the Ukrain people can live with. Did you even read the article? I’d at least like to have multiple options. I’m not saying Ukrain should immediately stop fighting. There can be multiple approaches. The world is not black and white, but shades of gray.

@kennonmoen @georgetakei Possibly, or it will become the target market for Chic Filet and Hobby Lobby and any other companies interested in marketing to the MAGA Christian Reich. On an emotional level I want to write off my koolaid drinking fellow Americans and I don’t feel like engaging anymore. But I was once allied with the self sustaining evangelical bubble and IMO it thrives better in a feedback loop then it does when the real world engages it.

@georgetakei when are people going to learn that their words have meaning? All of this hateful rhetoric has consequences. Like you, my heart breaks for the victims and those they leave behind. It also breaks for the survivors, first responders, and everyone else touched by this tragedy. Hatred is a learned behavior. We should not accept this as normal. It is not normal, nor should it ever be normal. We need more leaders to stand up for civility, empathy, and caring.

@georgetakei the funding available from the National Rifle Association is so important for elections. It is used in the development of the country.

This is the logic used, at the cost of so many lives. Guns belong only with soldiers at borders and law enforcement, not with beer-sipping, corn-harvesting farmers.

Do a Google search for each. Fierro has ONE article related to the shooting.

If we're naming the shooter more than we're naming the brave hero, then that's where the problem starts. Making the shooter famous is what they're looking for
