@BlackAzizAnansi

Still feels early, but I'm used to early. I would like to see more Black faces. I would also like to see more creatives, athletes, entertainers, and other non-tech/non-academics on here. I see some big name authors, but that's about it.

We're losing a lot of Black folk who get a bad First Time User Experience.

Moderation is still in it's infancy here, but seems like they're willing to learn?

I feel like we're only the 2nd wave of a beach landing team.

@mekkaokereke @BlackAzizAnansi

need black-moderated servers badly

@DavidMHarlan @mekkaokereke @BlackAzizAnansi People keep being encouraged to join the big, poorly-moderated instances like .online and .social and those instances are TERRIBLE. If you're still tweeting, encourage folks to join smaller instances!

Honestly, picking a server is really cumbersome. Once you know that you might end up on the "wrong server" you just have no idea what infighting happened 5 years ago between X and Y. But unless you belong to a very specific group that has a very specific instance it just seems very daunting.
@Narfinger @DavidMHarlan @mekkaokereke @BlackAzizAnansi Yeah, i get it, it's frustrating as fuck. I am doing my own very small part to try to recommend instances that people will like, and teaching people what i think is the really important stuff about picking an instance?

@adrienne

I tried to pick the most general middle of the road server just so I could figure out how the whole thing worked.

@DavidMHarlan I understand! If you want recs for instances to move to, or if anyone you know does, please let me know -- i am 100% happy to help. I'm also @ iridienne on Twitter if anyone wants to DM me there for recs.
@DavidMHarlan (I think "general recs" are less useful bc it's nice to get a sense of what someone's looking for, first.)
