@bikeloveny @tomflood I look to see who other people are following/being followed by. But you have to click through to see their actual followers, rather than the few people that your local instance has cached.

@tomflood @bikeloveny while mastodon has grown a lot over the past few months, it’s still much, much, MUCH smaller than over there, and finding people is not as straightforward. However, it feels to me like the smaller group I have here is actually more connected to me, and I don’t seem to get lost in the firehouse of message that comes from following tons of people.

@bikeloveny @[email protected] I've found you "get what you put in": you have to expend effort to find people, posts here (whereas Twitter is happy to feed you posts and followers from people who paid). Searching hashtags for people helps too.
