@Mimirocah1 Personally, I'm not interested in it until it becomes technically mature and a big success - which may take years.

Meanwhile, I'll be focusing on #Mastodon - which I currently believe will eventually become the successor to the bird site.

@Mimirocah1 I've heard Post is a venture started by the founder of Waze, funded by significant VC capital.

I suspect (not sure) that it's related to a previous micropayment-for-news effort he launched last year, "Paygo."

I am interested to see that the site is mostly being promoted by media and journalism personalities with significant social media followings who are casually dropping referral links in conversations about leaving Twitter, and I'm wondering if that's a coincidence.

@IntlLawGnome @Mimirocah1 If you try signing up, you’ll find Post incentivizes people to do that, saying your position on the waiting list will improve for every referral you generate. Savvy but annoying viral marketing strategy to build “buzz.”

@antone @IntlLawGnome @Mimirocah1 But they’re also letting people in based on who they are.. oftentimes blue checks are getting in first. I have to find it, but I took a screenshot of one of the owners talking about how he gets to “pick”. I’m also on the wait list, but don’t want that to become another Twitter overlord situation.

We’ll see.

@Mimirocah1 the email update we received yesterday about beta testing for Post was honestly so refreshing and it made me very optimistic about the site’s founders. They explained the bugs they had already identified and why they aren’t able to release the beta on a wider scale yet. Lots more information than they really needed to provide, but I appreciated it.

@Mimirocah1 I made it into Post about a week ago. It’s brand new and still in Beta so there are bugs being worked out and it doesn’t have all features yet. That being said, I really like it. They are working hard to get everything up to speed. Definitely worth giving it a try once you’re invited in!
