Here is the tiny skeleton from my #introduction - A tiny Death standing ready in holding an arrow in one hand and an hourglass in the other. The object is a gold mourning slide - often worn on a ribbon which could be attached through loops on the back of the slide. The initials of the deceased I.C. are inscribed in gold thread. @drdan_o Mourning jewelry is such a beautiful lost art. At the risk of preaching to the choir, I feel like Western society has sterilized death to the point where we're more afraid of it than is necessary. Exploring more engaged mourning practices helped me grieve in a way that I felt was really healthy. I love that these objects are more known now, and hope they make a comeback.
