Are there any #gamedev using #UE #UE5 who are also using JetBrains #Rider IDE? If you are reply to this and let me know what your experience is. Especially if you are using it on more than one platform like Mac/Windows/Linux etc...

*inquisitive bear stares*
@kumachan I've been using Rider for #UnrealEngine for the last 9 months or so, but just on Windows. I've found it a lot faster than VS, with no "parsing intellisense" hangs. It does sometimes get stuck without autocomplete and I have to reboot it.
@_benui that’s interesting. A lot of the issues I seem to have relate to intellisense. I am giving the trail a shot now and so far it’s been the best ide I’ve used for this particular task.
@kumachan have a few folks that I work with that use Rider with UE and say it’s fantastic. For us, though, no console support, which can be tough.
@urinalcake oh interesting. What kind of issues do you run into?
@kumachan well, what I mean, is that it doesn’t support hardware consoles like PS, Xbox, etc., which is a common piece of equipment we use.
@urinalcake I haven’t worked with consoles yet and don’t know what the requirements are. I just need a stable IDE to do some heavy code refactoring that doesn’t crash while indexing symbols.
@kumachan yeah, so then Rider (and VS/Code) are all safe bets. My point was that, since it’s great with UE, it works perfectly if you don’t need console support.
