Pretty incredible to see the #Mastodon app at the very top of the list of free apps in the iOS App Store here in 🇨🇦. For reference, Twitter is currently #45.

@kent Also a bit sad, as the app sucks. :D
@kent that is a good sign. Means alot of folks are interested in trying an alternative platform

@kent

Yes, the stats are quite remarkable on new users plus things like apps.

I've read in a few places how a majority of mobile app users go with the 'official' app but some say there are better ones. Whatever... I got the IOS app for the iPhone and find it works quite well, especially for posting and getting/seeing notifications. (Easier to set preferences for notices, sounds, etc. than the web version.)

Still a few clunky bits but impressed the dev's here are truly responsive and 'on it'

@kent it’s 10th in the US and Twitter’s 19th
@kent hmm, my top ten in Android must be Australianized. Sitting at 95.
@kent New here and learning…what advantages does the Mastodon app have over Metatext, if any? Serious question. Thank you.
@kent A shame it's one of the least-featured apps available. For one thing, it has no Home feed.
@kent incredible but it should be #Metatext
@kent It's #4 here in the UK, behind "I'm a celebrity", "Fifa World Cup" and "Tesco Grocery"
@kent The official Mastodon app is #4 on Android Free Social (at least in UK): Twitter is 6th, Tusky (Mastodon client) is 19th.
@kent 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽

@kent
If you find the Mastodon app clunky, I find Metatext better

@kent tooot is definitely much better. I got the mastodon app, Metatext and Tooot to see which one I liked best.
