James_PondWhat always gets me, is that building pilings are still possible when there is a swiss cheese of tunnels and the like underneath the surface.

Having worked on constructing railway lines, I can definitely say they don't plunge and rise drastically like that. Would cause significant problems if it attempted to. ^_^;
