Hello! Long time no see!

And welcome to the new users, of which there are... quite many, aren't there?

As you may have noticed, this project has been on a bit of a hiatus for a while. This is something I work on in my free time, and I got a bit burned out on working on it, and wanted to use my free time for other stuff. But with this recent influx of so many new users, I figured I do need to come back to this.

So I am planning to at least release some smaller updates in the near future!

Can't guarantee I'll be working on any big features or anything, but for now I am planning to catch up a bit with the Mastodon development that's been going on, and fixing some small issues that have been annoying me.

After that, who knows. I'm certainly going to pace myself to avoid getting too sick of it, but I'll try to do a few things here and there.

@tootapp didn’t even realize the app wasn’t under active development, it looks and works great still!

@tootapp Glad to see you back. You were the first Mastodon app I tried, and could never find the courage to delete from the phone. Happy we’re getting an update, but don’t burn out again because of it! Please. Not worth it.

@tootapp My one main feature request: easier access to the search feature! I need to look people or posts up all the time!

Looking up posts on various different mastodon servers is something that's weirdly difficult across all the iOS clients i've tried: https://mastodon.social/@knowtheory/109331552023309763

@tootapp yay this is such good news! One thing that would make blind users very happy, is if you could fix the crash that occurs when trying to play audio media attached to a toot. Video works, pictures work, but any audio media crashes Toot! immediately. Thank you!

@tootapp For the first step it'll be great to have support for editing and translating in the app.
And on servers with increased character limit that display stays still at 500 with v4 although it displays fine in web and the Mastodon app 😉

@tootapp If you’re looking for feature suggestions I’d really like the option to not crop photos in the timeline, and the ability to swipe right anywhere on the screen to go back instead of just from the left edge.

@tootapp I love your app, definitely!
I've got two suggestions:
1. Save the current timeline position to iCloud so that the user can pick up at same position on a different device.
That would be great if you switch from iPhone to iPad. I miss that Tweetbot feature very much.
2. Make it chooseable, how big the fonts are. I don't want to change that globaly, for the whole iPhone/iPad.

@tootapp I tried a bunch of iOS Mastodon apps. You are the only one that handles timeline position and loading new messages correctly. If this was also synced across devices, that would be incredible! But even so, keep up the good work.

@tootapp Would be great to have some small updates even! Bc great features already. One request: allow changing font size, either via iOS #accessibility setting it within the app. Right now text is just too small for me to read!

@tootapp may I suggest to not expand username tap area to full width of the item? on short toots it’s almost always where your finger lands, opening profile instead of toot itself

@tootapp if I may suggest some small tweaks:

- add tabs for different kind of notifications on the bell-icon (or a similar UI as on the toot-button)
- allow using icons instead of letters for reply, boost etc.
- add the profile picture (a button to the profile) on the upper left side when swiping through servers which I have an account on.

@tootapp Toot continues to set the bar for whimsical apps for tooting. I'm crossing my fingers that maybe Toot might one day make its way to the Mac too! (i'd even settle for using the iOS version on my Mac that has apple silicon but a catalyst version would be 💯)
