I've long suspected that the goal of Disney when it comes to the Muppets is to rewrite history to make it seem like the Muppets didn't exist before 2011. In fact to make it like most pop culture didn't exist before 2011.

This extends at least as far as the first 15 minutes being identical except for a title card.

But you can buy both of these on Scott Shaw's website like they are different movies.
