1 year ago I was not a #cat person. At all. Today I put down a blanket on my lap so my man Ziggy will be comfy because it's chilly and he likes to sleep in my lap while I work. It's been a journey but goddam I love this fluffy little weirdo.
@emanderson I was never a cat person until I lived with a cat. She belonged to my ex, and I agreed to watch her while he traveled around the country. I fell in love almost immediately (with the cat :)).
@savranly Haha I love that. I have a similar story with my dog. My partner was NOT a dog person and was so grumpy when I got her. We had been together for a month at the time, and I was going out of the country and said "you're watching her." When I got back they were best friends. :)
@emanderson They change your life in such wonderful ways. The only things I miss from my first marriage are my ex-cats (he kept the cats). They were littermates, rescues, and a delight. Ten years later, and we have three 'rescues' (the neighbors domesticated a feral cat, brought her to get spayed, and... well, 2 weeks later, she dropped seven kittens) that have exactly one braincell between them, but they are loving and I can't imagine a better napping crew.
@AmberJFrost Haha aww sweet and simple little cat buddies, I love it :)
@emanderson Generally I feel like people that claim to not like cats or are not "cat people" have never had a cat adopt them as their human :)
@emanderson Everyone's a cat person once the cat has made up their mind. 😀
@emanderson Cats have an amazing ability to win over people who are "not cat people" 😄 My partner was similar – he'd grown up with dogs, didn't really know much about cats, but the second he met the cat I had at the time we got together, it was love at first sight (mutually!). In fact, I'm pretty sure that cat loved my partner more than he loved me 🤣
