The first story I read on my channel is a dark-comedy twist on the typical #fairytale - where an evil dragon is slain by heroic adventurers
"The Slaying of the Monster" by R. H. Barlow & H. P Lovecraft

Everybody's heard of the 'monkey's paw curse', but few have read the original short story... At least that was my thought process when I recorded my 2nd (and still most popular) audiobook:
"The Monkey's Paw" by W. W. Jacobs
"I think it was his eye! yes, it was this! He had the eye of a vulture..." ๐งฟ
The third tale I decided to tell on my channel is one of Edgar Allan Poe's most well-known short stories: "The Tell-Tale Heart" ๐
"The Elves" (German: Die Wichtelmรคnner) is a well known story from Grimm's Fairy Tales about a down-on-his-luck shoemaker & his wife who receive much-needed help from tiny, skilled men (aka Brownies).
"What the Moon Brings" is a surrealistic prose poem by H. P. Lovecraft ๐
Like many of his stories, it was based on a vivid nightmare and ends with the protagonist choosing death over insanity
Gods be good! For my next story I read "The Death of Balder" by Hamilton Wright Mabie
Balder's death causes the final rift between Loki and Odin and sets into motion the events of Ragnarok.
Won't you weep for Balder? ๐ญ
I'm really proud of this next one; Still the ONLY recording available (afaik) of this somewhat subversive fairy tale written in 1886 by a highly underrated author:
"The Necklace of Princess Fiorimonde"
by Mary De Morgan
