For those who don't yet know there is a plug in for Chrome called UnPaywall that lets you find the #OpenAccess versions of #Academic #Research when they exist.
Honestly it is totally worth it even if you are with an institution b/c it is faster than logging into a library etc.

Unpaywall

Totally legal versions. It just finds them wherever they live.
If the person added them to a website or research portfolio etc. the extension shows you the source
@erinkburrell fantastic, thanks for sharing!
@erinkburrell I use open access helper as a plug-in for safari - works well.
@erinkburrell To add to this, there is also a free plugin called RECAP that can get you access to documents on PACER other people have paid for already.
@erinkburrell available for firefox too. idk what i would do without it. ty for sharing (:
@erinkburrell Thanks for the tip! For those who don't want to use Chrome, Chrome extensions also work on Brave -- https://brave.com/

@erinkburrell Wow, that is really useful. Thank you so much for this info.

@erinkburrell

I don't use #Google #Chrome for privacy reasons, but the #UnpayWall plugin for accessing scientific texts is a great time-saving idea.
Thanks.

Since it seems to be sort of like a search-engine, is researchgate.net also included? (They often seem to have additional papers, and in this way, one search-entry less.)

@HistoPol @erinkburrell It's available for Firefox, if that's what you're using.

@stevesplace @erinkburrell

Thanks, no, only if #Opera won't cut it on the PC.

But for such am efficiency gain, I will make an exception.

PS:

The AddOn for #FF is not shailable on #Android and #Chrome there doesn’t even seem to have an add-on function.
So, PC only, it seems.
