For an expat of that other site, I cannot emphasize how helpful #lists have been in Mastodon. This lets me catch up on specific people I follow because my timeline updates way too fast for me to keep up with.

The web UI does a great job of showing your lists and you can pin them in the advanced view. I was having a hard time finishing a app that was user friendly for lists but thanks to @cirriustech, Toot! has now become my favorite #iOS app due to the ease of switching between lists.

If you’re going to be a power user, I highly recommend getting some lists set up. #feditips #twittermigration

@ajawzero @cirriustech I can't find how to add someone to a list in the web UI other than searching for them in the List + interface. Would be nice if I could just click on an ellipsis next to a user and add them.
@ajawzero @cirriustech thanks for the tip. Does each user need to create their own lists from scratch or is there a way to start with a pre-curated list??? Or a public list?

@ajawzero @cirriustech Say what you will about the "other site", at least it was mostly intuitive. Mastodon is the exact opposite of that and is hard to understand, user and deal with. At first blush, it is garbage.
@ajawzero @cirriustech @Migueldeicaza my only complaint about Toot is the tiny text, which doesn’t appear to be adjustable.
@ajawzero @cirriustech Does the Mastodon iOS app not have access to the Lists feature? I can’t seem to find it anywhere.
@cirriustech @ajawzero “That other site” has lists. They work exactly the same https://help.twitter.com/en/using-twitter/twitter-lists
About Twitter Lists

A Twitter List is a curated group of accounts. Create one or subscribe to a list created by others to streamline your timeline.

@ajawzero
In my preferences, I toggled the checkbox turning Mastodon back into Twitter where you can update your timeline by a click after you caught up. (only tried on Federated timeline but it works)
