I learned a lot about data sovereignty from the #indigidata crowd on Twitter. I haven’t found such a community here. Is there an indigenous data mastodon?

#indigenous #data #sovereignty

@will idk about here but Native Land is a pretty good project
@will Tagging this so I'll know when you know
@will Not indigenous myself, but some of my co-workers are and data sovereignty is a frequent topic in our projects at #iarc . Anyone here from #arcticobssummit or #arcticpassion ?
@chrys @will haven't heard of anything. Believe me, I'm looking.
@angutekaraq @chrys @will once I know what her ID is I can tag Vanessa with ACEP, she was working in the archives for ICC until a few months ago, it’s a topic neat and dear to her.
@tania @angutekaraq @will Yeah, I'm looking out for some like Margaret from IARC who we still need to entice over. I deleted the bird app from my phone, which may have been a mistake. Also there's a glaciologist/scicomm person in Svalbard coordinating a major initiative including Sami and Gwich'in experts where this topic won't fail to come up.
@will the closest thing I have come across so far is an mention of ahau in a discussion at https://mastodon.online/@humberto/107915243452026933 . Maybe someone involved like @bhaugen or @azul would know more?

@[email protected] have you considered https://ahau.io/ ? Your data backed up on your family's computers.

Mastodon

@nilsreichert @will
I'm not very involved in ahau, other than it was sorta incubated in SSB and I get there once a day or so.

@azul might know more indigenous into..
