But the problem is a real one, not a mere intellectual game. Because today we live in a society in which #SpuriousRealities are manufactured by the #Media, by #governments, by big #Corporations, by #ReligiousGroups, #PoliticalGroups — & the #ElectronicHardware exists by which to deliver these #PseudoWorlds right into the heads of the reader, the viewer, the listener. #PhilipKDick, #1978

I'm interested in your Dadaist Tesseract Church of the Asemic Existential-Möbius Otherhood--and I haven't looked up the work asemic yet even--perhaps because I hosted a Dada Soiree night weekly, as a young man, perhaps because of my affiliation with the Church of the Subgenius and Saint Stupid. Perhaps because why not. But I'm curious about your spurious realities/ constructed reality thing. Is this a total rejection of all consensus? What is it, in terms of practical politics?

@JohnShirley2023 Just trying to reconcile the #absurdity of life through creative expression. I'm fascinated by #construction and deconstruction as it applies to #MassMedia, the #Arts, and #SocietalNorms.
We are hardwired to construct patterns & and find meaning. #AsemicArt, for example, takes the #CodesAndConventions of #Writing and #Text and #Deconstructs them. The viewer has to interpret them, trying to find meaning in #Asemic configurations. 🙂

Well Asemic sounds like a post Wittgenstein fancy name for dadaism... I'm sure you've hard the carping that: deconstruction is too easy. But I have no objection to all this, I just wonder what it's about. I'm certainly not opposed to reconciling the absurdity of life via creative expression. Nor were Jarry, Ionesco or Beckett opposed to it...as they demonstrated. There are other approaches to reconciling the absurdity of life, of course. But they're more esoteric than artistic.

@JohnShirley2023 Here the Wikipedia entry on the history of #AsemicWriting. Includes a variety of examples.
My background includes teaching #Media Literacy, #SpecialEducation, #DevelopmentalLiteracy(Reading) and #English.
I had been experimenting for sometime with incorporating text into images and creating collages. My daughter, is a Downs person. She signs, and loves to copy out text - fascinating lists of words & sometimes cursive lines.
This brought me to #AsemicArt.

@JohnShirley2023 #AsemicArt allows the viewer to experience a world similar to someone dealing with #Dislexia. They struggle to find pattern and meaning, ending up imposing their own construct on to an #ImpliedSpace.
The meaning of #AsemicWriting is not in the text, but of the text's form & relationship of lines and empty space. Meaning is completely interpretive.
