Whenever a police car lights up its sirens nearby, there's a bird a few properties up that starts mimicking it. That bird then sets the local curlews off, which then sets off curlews further away, and you can hear this cop->rando parrot->curlew grapevine go on for miles.

Even five minutes later, you can hear way back in the distance the curlew chain continuing to carry on. All because there's some parrot that likes cop sirens

@pollytics
one of our local butcherbirds has incorporated the emergency vehicle "get out of intersection!!" quick burst siren (Also used for traffic pulls) because we hear it so frequently.

@pollytics lol I HATE LIIVING IN A TOWN THAT HAS SIRENS ALL DAY
@pollytics All Parrots Are Bastards 🤣
@pollytics LOL we have a random wild bird at school that mimics car alarms. Not even the same car alarm, but multiple car alarm sounds.
