@scottjshapiro Dorsey's Bluesky project was announced in 2019 as a non-profit initiative from Twitter. It is a Mastodon-like social platform, so you may not be too far from the truth.

@scottjshapiro There is no 'Mastodon' per se. There are hundreds (thousands?) of individual servers though, mostly operated by people for free.
