Working on a new blog/podcast/video on masking as an autistic author.

Usually about halfway through a piece i can't pull it together. Graf's, subheads, logical flow, TOPIC SENTENCES ...

It's probably the #autism... I struggle. I run outta spoons...

1/2

.

2/2

But I can structure an illustration without "word thinking": foreground, background, highlights, space, flow, palette...

Comes natural... So I "creatively procrastinate"...an illustration for what I want to say.

Magically afterwards? Graf's & topic sentences write themselves.

👉 Anybody else something similar?

This will probably be a TikTok by weekend. I'll post here too.

@johnnyprofane1 I have so many draft blog posts for this same reason. Sometimes, maybe months later, I can look back at them, and maybe I only need to add a few words, and wonder what the hold up was!

I feel I do the same thing with reading. I can pick up a book and not get the meaning. Then pick it up months, maybe even years later, and it makes perfect sense!

@VikkiB

Ikr?

What is that?

I'm exploring some "variable ability" experiences from a state of consciousness perspective...

Likex sometimes some of my individual brain centers go on vacation... Even as others keep on chugging...

Like i literally can't play music... Can't remember how to draw... For months... Then they're back....

@johnnyprofane1 I wonder if it’s the same as:
- you have a project
- something stops you from starting the project
- you procrastinate forever
- you force yourself to start the project
- you finish the project
- you wonder why you agonized over starting the project and vow not to do it again
- you do it again
- and again

@VikkiB

Dunno... I don't think so. It will be an exploration... once I have it done... we can explore together?
