My obligatory #introduction post! 👋 In my day job I’m an Academic Fellow in #Geography at #UniversityofBristol. I research issues of #energypoverty and #spatialinequality using quantitative techniques (think #maps #Rspatial #RStats). My current project explores #AmbientVulnerability in cities 🗺⚡️⚖️ Outside work I love to cycle, visit old pubs and new places, collage and craft, eat salty snacks (not exclusively), and play football (in an attempt to offset the salty snacks) 🚲🍿💛
@caitrobinson fascinating! And welcome! I gotta ask what is energy poverty? Energy being too expensive? Sustainable energy sources being inaccessible?
@nightmayor thanks! Great question. If you take a broad definition is encompasses both of those things. Essentially it is about not being able to access the energy services you need to stay health and well, and to participate in society. Your research also sounds really interesting!

@caitrobinson @nightmayor Interesting! In a way, sounds similar to food deserts. On that note, I am interested in hearing whether it is an acutely spatial phenomenon, such as food deserts, that specifically affect certain neighbourhoods or is it more aspatial?

How does one study #EnergyPoverty ? And with what data?

Sorry to bomb you with questions, but the topic sparked an interest 🤓
