Along with researching colonial landscapes, I also teach #familyhistory in a fully online program offered by the University of Tasmania. At the moment, I'm in the final couple of weeks of running a training course for #library, #archive and information professionals that focuses on how to help family historians who visit their institutions.

I'm looking for all my #genealogy people among the #histodons, and always keen to talk online pedagogy (especially for students with lower digital literacy, as many of ours have).

@imo_weg wow that’s amazing. My Tasmania connection is Frederick Maning who went to New Zealand and became known as a Pakeha Māori. He was my 3rd great grandfather. His family emigrated to Tasmania from Ireland. #Geneaology #FamilyHistory #Tasmania
@CathieGrimm How interesting! There was so much movement throughout this area in the nineteenth century. You're fortunate to be able to track him so well – many people popped up here and there without leaving discernible traces in the records.
