Overall I'm happy with how my room is shaping up after the reorganisation today. Some cable management is still needed and the electronics table needs some work but I'm able to hack on projects with minimal energy overhead now :-) #chronicillness #MECFS #spoonie

@UnaKarlsen That looks great! Do you feel the need to work in a reclined position?

When I had mild to moderate #MECFS and worked from home, I ended up reclining my desk chair as much as possible and I would put my feet up onto my desk. That helped with orthostatic intolerance — more blood in my head, I could think a little clearer.

The other option is to work lying in your bed but seeing your setup that doesn’t seem feasible.

@CyruxiME My orthostatic intolerance is almost entirely gone these days since I started LDN. I also found that drinking Soda water that is buffered or that I have added ORS(oral rehydration solution) to boosts my blood volume enough to sort out my POTS symptoms. So I drink Soda water constantly during the day. At my previous home I had my a different desk that fits over my bed and I would work from bed which was very helpful though I'm trying to get everything a bit more ergonomic again.
@CyruxiME At one point I injured my neck quite badly while working from bed. I ended up with a ruptured disk in my neck due to not providing correct neck support. I tend to sit at my desk for gaming and work, and will sit in bed to watch videos and build electronic projects. Sometimes I'll use the Chromebook from bed too, but its a really old one so fairly limited. But I think it's a good balance for me at the moment given my current energy levels and activities.

@UnaKarlsen Amen to ORS! Sorry to hear about the neck injury — that must have been painful 😕 I have felt my neck strain from using my laptop in my bed, too.

It sounds like you’ve found an approach that suits you & your symptoms well. Glad you were able to figure things out.
