If my business is going to survive after lockdown I'm going to need a serious tech upgrade. My servers are old & creaking. My previous goto #SMEServer, previously eSmith, hasn't had an upgrade since 2017. Came across #Zentyal, looks good but looks proprietary. Does anyone know of anything else that provides domain accounts, file sharing and an email server? Or how easy is it to set up all this stuff on #Ubuntu 20.04 server? I'm happy with the command line just not sure what packages I need.

@gomez Zenytal is Opensource, It has community edition.

For Email you can use Mailinabox or Mailcow

For Files and Storage you can try Nextcloud.

@null0x0 just found the community edition of Zentyal I'll run it up on a box tomorrow and give it a try.
@gomez Sure! if you get time do share your thoughts about it! I havnet tried it personally but will like to know how hard or easy it was to deploy.
@gomez
I know & use both @yunohost and @cloudron.io
Yunohost is a great journey if you want to stay in the realm of classical server/app/domain Linux like management, the entire packaging concept and community around it is also a plus even if that's also valid for Cloudron too.. but Cloudron is a full panel approach to docker and the way its designed is a huge step forward to turn domain/clients/backup management in a user easy & ubiquitous - 1/2
way, a superb slick backend to manage domains, certs, app, users (single sign on across any ldap - 1/2 @gomez @yunohost - 2/2

As just one among many good articles on the subject, here's my own notes when I de-Google'ed my tech life:

@vandys thanks I've bookmarked that to read shortly.
@gomez FWIW I run a QNAP device at home, I don't use it for everything but plenty of people have had good experiences - I use mine mostly for media but it's a capable little device for sure: https://www.qnap.com/static/useng/private_cloud/
