This is interesting. Can be very useful for handles that we need here but are not willing to shift here.

@commandlinekid made a few Twitter-to-Mastdon accounts so we can read Birdsite content here on Mastodon. please send @commandlinekid a list of handles you think needs a bot.

We move to #Mastodon as Birdsite is toxic. Then we keep craving for Birdfeeds, we keep reposting stuff from there to here.
We try and find ways to automatically get those feeds.
Do we really need that stuff here?

I don't see a problem, we can avoid posting twitter links here, but IMO it is important to disseminate good ideas, and quality content for better conversations. Doesn't matter what the source is. Our problem is with the Bird Site only, not with the content posed there by our friends. Posting toot links would help popularizing Mastadon I feel. :)

People will want the information OR they will just stop-using-Mastodon. It's happened many other times in history in other things. It needs a catalyst to take off

I think its only not working for some folks if if its blocked on their instance. I wasnt trying to diss your idea it just seems like unnecessary work for someone when the bots already exist (through birdsite.monster)

I just tried it from multiple instances and its not working.

Great if it does, I had that idea a long time ago but didn't make it because 1.) I wanted to spend my time getting the important accounts out there and 2.) Twitter ain't stupid, they'll shut that down in the second they want.
