One thread that runs through every episode of kitchen nightmares is that capitalism 100% perpetuates the idea of the divine right of kings. Every single owner on the show is shown abusing their staff and costumers, ignoring basic hyegine etc, and when Ramsay calls them out they deny it outright. The series frames it as "the key to success is good leadership". What it shows instead is that those who own capital are lead to believe that by the virtue of owning they can do no wrong.
@garfiald I kinda want to rewatch one of these episodes with this in mind

@garfiald Not to mention that the entire show is predicated on providing a sort of welfare to capitalists.

When an employee is the problem, they're fired, and everyone agrees the place will be better without them.

When the owner is the problem, they're kept around and everyone just hopes they learn a lesson.

@linkskywalker You're absolutely right! It also exposes capitalism's dynastic ideology. When the owners employ their family members, this is always portrayed as natural, and cast in the warm light of the phrase "family restaurant", rather than shown as what it really is: nepotism.
@garfiald Ramsay's a fucking knob, and I am legit amazed that nobody's stabbed him with a steak knife yet.
