I ♥️ my Miata!

After a long, cold, and very white Winter, what a joy it was to get Baby Blue out for a real romp today!

Also wonderful to drive a fully analog car — with a 6-speed manual transmission; precise, effortless steering; and not a single touch screen anywhere! Her tires are round again, after being frozen to the driveway all those months. 61˚F/16˚C, so of course we put the top down! I think she forgives me now?

Nice hard rain, and I'm excited! It's helping wash away the road salt.

S'posed to be sunny and warmer tomorrow. There's a toy train show about an hour away. Ima drive Baby Blue there, and it should be warm enough to put the top down, at least on the way home. 🙂

Yesterday and last night we had snow turning to freezing rain. Today we have lots of fog. But it's warm enough that the ice on the drive is beginning to melt off.

More rain forecast Th-Sa, but that's good: Sunday & Monday look like perfect days to get Baby Blue out romping (top down), without salt residue on the roads! 🙂

Out from her deep Winter slumber, Baby Blue* awakes!

Had to jump start her, but I already knew that, and she fired off first time with the jump pack. Then I took her out for a very small jaunt to wash her. Now she's idling in the driveway, charging the battery a bit.

Tomorrow I'll take her out for a couple hours on the Interstate Highway.

Time for a new rag top this year, too (confirmed in the car wash). 😉

Apropos of thinking about post-Winter...

I tried starting Baby Blue (2012 Mazda MX5 Miata) several days ago, when it was really cold. She gave me that "You must be joking, right?!" response. Motor reluctantly turned over a couple times, then quit.

She looks patient, but very cold sitting there in her little snow mounds, icicles stuck to her high performance tires...

.... they have some Satellite Shots that are sort of real. Look, most of them didn't go through. You try to slice it through the Matrix, it's gonna die and GLITCH out. But, one might've stuck you know. I was just a Fluke, because it went #ZOOMZOOM instead of piercing. It was just luck, Destiny. ETC. They allays use just one Satellite you know, it's a thing. They terrified it's gonna break, the thing is old.
