Looks cold - and was - but still a couple of common ringed plovers and a lot of oystercatchers here. Seeing the first shorebirds always gives me faith, I trust their judgement that the summer is seriously close enough for it to be worth it to return back up here.

A few days ago I was feeling the spring in the air. Well, this is how it turned out, back to square one I guess 😂

Quiet also from #birding perspective, a great spotted woodpecker, some siskins, a flock of red crossbills and a white-tailed eagle soaring above it all.

First signs of #spring on the seashore. Some mergansers, goldeneyes and whooper swans in the open water, soon there will be a lot more.
Also saw an Eurasian three-toed woodpecker (in the company of a treecreeper), always delights me because you don’t see them too often.

In Finnland gibt es auch Sandstände! Das hier ist #Yyteri in der Nähe der Stadt Pori. Nebenbei ist es auch ein Zugang zum Bottensee-Nationalpark (Finnisch: #Selkämeri), der besonders bei Vogelbeobachtern beliebt ist.
