Well, it took four days of off and on work, navigating multiple (LLM-generated) guides and forums but I finally managed to get #RockBox loaded on my #Y1 (using the unsupported Linux build of the #Innioasis updater app) and I couldn’t be happier! Makes a fun music device all the better! PLUS I learned a TON about my #Linux system. I feel like I’ve been through the trenches.

Used my wife's Win11-equipped laptop last night (been having a *time* trying to flash my #Innioasis #Y1 to run RockBox; the Windows process seemed more straightforward... it was not). First time I've used #Windows in ages and remembered just how UGLY that OS is. The whole time it felt like a bootleg version of a #Linux distro, a knock-off lol. It's funny that a FOSS operating system both looks and behaves better than that of a multi-billion dollar corporation.

A, hopefully, refreshing picture for this hot summer day: I took it at dusk, one chilly afternoon in January 2018: a #HŽ 🇭🇷 Class 7122 diesel railcar is awaiting departure from #Lupoglav on the #Istria line. This is a former #SJ 🇸🇪 #Y1 type vehicle, nicknamed #Šveđanin (the Swede) by Croatian railfans.

@kris_of_pnictogen Maybe #Y1 is an even better name :D

A number of Swedish #SJ 🇸🇪 type #Y1 railcars found their way to #Croatia from the late 1990s on. The Croatian Railways #HŽ 🇭🇷 registered them as Class 7122. One of them is seen here at #Zagreb main station in February 2018, still displaying its original brownish SJ livery, with just an HŽ sticker added.
