For the last few days, I've been annoyed by Dropbox notifications about AppIndicator support. I'm used to #xmobar, and it works fine for me, so I didn't want to switch to a new info bar and found an elegant solution: using snixembed, which works like a proxy. Just compile it, run it, and everything works like a charm. Kudos to snixembed, I so love solutions like this that allow me to keep using things I'm comfortable with.

#xmonad

It's always nice when I unexpectedly understand something after a long time - today I understood the #xmobar config <3

Personally I use #xmonad though. I wouldn't recommend using it unless you want to learn #haskell. I have used #awesomeWM and #qtile as well, but I am not as well versed in them.

Haskell was quite fun to learn as its a purely functional language with no object oriented ability.

The reason why I use xmonad is primarily because there are so many libraries for it. I #polybar rather than #xmobar.

Giving #Haskell a bit of a look at while exploring #XMonad. The #xmobar source code is profoundly confusing. It feels similar to starting to learn programming all over
Taking a nap had amazing results!

1. Fixed both screens, resolution and everything (well almost, second monitor is still yellowish, but it's either age, or I need to config it on the hardware side)

2. Fixed xmobar, and now I can see them on both monitors. I use PP stuff now, so I will modify it more. Make it more nice and colorful

I am very happy with the results so far.

#linux #xmonad #xmobar
Still have this problem, when I start xmonad from terminal:

stack: runproc: runinteractiveprocess: exec: does not exist (no such file or directory)
xmonad: user error (opendisplay)

I can login fine, but no xmobar appears, and basically nothing works, no keybindings, nothing. Slackware 15, packages from Slackbuild.

@kelbot You know, I had it in my head that #xmonad wasn't compatible with the newer #KDE but it looks like I may have been wrong! But I'd need a replacement for #xmobar...
This is a great looking xmonad setup:

Dotfiles in the comments, also nice neofetch!
