As Australia parties tonight for #MardiGras2023 #WorldPride2023 let's not forget that pride is a protest. Members of the LGBTI+ community — especially the youth — are more likely to be diagnosed with depression and contemplate suicide due to stigma and harrasment, oftentimes by our own families and schools. Pride marches need to be bright, flashy, and loud, so those hiding in the darkest corners of the world know that there will always be a safe space for them.
