Words to the wise. Two things well said, developing a strong sense of internal self-esteem and boundaries: a must for anyone who wants to develop a career in academia. There will be relentless rejection and rude harsh words, and negativity around. You also need to stand up for yourself a lot. Then a sense of boundaries, where to stop and which loads not to take.
