Ugh, sorry my mobile data is so bad I can’t keep y’all updated with photos on all the #WeirdHouse #WoodenHouse discoveries & renovations until internet arrives Even that is proving difficult because although I can see the closest telegraph pole from my kitchen window we can’t create enough clearance over the road for the line 🙄 And neighbour understandably doesn’t want my fibre cable almost touching his roof if we use one on our side of road 😮💨 There will be a big vomit at some stage hopefully

Long amazing first full day at the new place…
After swan mucking out this morning where I got my weekly workout, two men and a van came to the new place and emptied the garage and carport onto their box van and have left us with nothing but the charity shop stuff.
One of them lifted a fridge into to back of the van with more ease than I’d lift a microwave oven. 🏋️♂️

I'm just getting our heating system sorted, after having had all the rads replaced. Once I'd worked out that some of the 'smart' TRVs need setting to 24°C to actually reach 21°, it all went a bit smoother.
Like you, I would have resisted turning the gas fire on in a wooden house. Definitely.

@blingoali there are two sideboards the same, they were up next to dining table against the big long white wall (the only one we plan on keeping as a painted wall for artwork etc It looks nice over there but D wants it as tv unit so we can move it about. Shez the boss Thankfully we both love wood.
Ripping out all the MDF and flimsy ply is my main aim at the moment to reveal as much chunky original T&G as possible
Fire is on huge concrete plinth so no real fire risk. CO poisoning more likely.
