#ReallyUsefulBox don't make them to #EuroBox sizes, but to different odd sizes. Sad.

I have spotted #ReallyUsefulBox es in FediVerse posts. I have spotted them in YouTube videos.

This is the first one that I've seen in a #USTelly programme. It looks like a 35l, with the modern blue handles.

@matt303

And a good thing, too, else how could people shoehorn the #dadjokes in? (-:

I've spent the week in part moving boxes and boxes and boxes of rain-soaked radio parts from the junk cardboard and open-topped storage that they were in, into #ReallyUsefulBox es, with lids.

Alas, the box that was right at the bottom didn't drain and there's a load of metal mystery cuboids sitting in about 1dm of very brown water, some of which sprout mini water fountains when lifted out, meaning that they are probably solid rust inside by now as this stuff has sat in a shed with a dodgy roof for years.

Whilst I've not been making much recently. I did reorganise my member box. I used to have one 35l XL really useful box with everything in it. I've now added a 9l box and put all my machining tools in there. For most projects I only need this box, and it's a lot easier to grab from the shelf and take to the machines. I may want to 3s print some organiser bits in there for the collets etc... too. But for now. It's a good quality of life improvement.

A poor substitute for a @lindasgoluppiart task.

Today:

Take a look at @matt303 's boxes. Not the #ReallyUsefulBox es, but the boxes that the Really Useful Boxes came in.

For 1 minute, try to come up with the weirdest and most original use of them that you can think of.

Note that climbing inside them like a cat has been done, FediVerse.

Attached: 1 image So I wanted some storage boxes and Amazon said they come in a minimum quantity of 3 so my logical brain thinks they'll come stacked inside each other, no they turned up in a box the size of a fridge with loads of packing and each in another cardboard box!

I buy mine directly from Really Useful Products, and they so far have been fairly sensible about packaging.

However, one of the selling points of #ReallyUsefulBox es is that they (with 1 exception) have near-vertical sides. Nesting involves having trapezoidal cross-sections, of course. So Really Useful Boxes stack, rather than nest.

But I've ordered size mixtures before now, and they have put the smaller boxes inside the bigger ones where possible.

@witewulf

You jest, but I was almost in that position, as the new chest of drawers would not go around the corner of the lower landing. I was almost at the point of removing the banister, …

… until I realized that a stack of #ReallyUsefulBox es would do the trick as a stand to get it up to the level of the 3rd step, which had enough room to swing around the landing.

Rolling a Victorian chest of drawers up a flight of #stairs is an … interesting exercise.

I'm not quite sure if the pain of watching the use of STOP instead of END in #BASIC (even though this is #BBCBASIC) and of shelling out to an entire separate program in order to clear the screen (although it is surprisingly hard to do it the more efficient ways in #Python), is outweighed by the #ReallyUsefulBox es in the background. I just spotted a #ReallyUsefulBox in an old episode of #Castle. Bizarre!

(Castle's mother hands a 9L one to him at the end of the "Barbra Landau" episode, for the record.)
