This weekend I managed to get #wmbus receiver working. 🎉

Our housing cooperative installed new hot water and heater meters with radio readings. I found out it uses 868Mhz wmbus protocol and that there is an #ESPHome extension adding support for this.
I only needed encryption keys, which I was provided with by the cooperative.

Now my #HomeAssistant tracks out heating and hot water #consuption. Yay...

Any recommendation for an USB wireless MBus adapter that works with Home Assistant? A few months back I got some new meters installed and I confirmed that they indeed do broadcast some data with a RTL-SDR device. on my MacBook. But now I want to use a dedicated device for #HomeAssistant. #wmbus

Reading Your Water Meter Through Wireless M-Bus - blog.bott.im

My water meter exports data through a wireless interfaces named wireless M-Bus. Let's figure out how to obtain this data!

I read the RFM95W LoRaWAN module datasheet last night, and it mentions also being able to do GFSK for W-MBus. Has anyone tried that before, or has the slightest idea on how to do that? I don't quite get it yet. #lorawan #mbus #wmbus
