sonicJazzMonkeyI think the "Who to follow" suggestions section on Mastodon should be limited to those accounts that have actually posted "recently". I saw "Deborah Meadan" on there and she hasn't posted since 2023.
Randahl FinkAwesome biologist and very inspiring nature guide @mortendd is active on Mastodon.

As has been suggested you joined at a time of very heavy load on all Mastodon servers, which can't have helped you.
But, it's true there are surprisingly few #uk #canal enthusiasts on Mastodon and most post rarely - and that includes me.
