Experienced bodgers will probably recognise this. It's the thing that makes your washing machine die every few years - the door switch. When my 25-year old Hotpoint machine refused to start, this switch was the second thing I suspected (after the plug fuse). Luckily I had a spare, so the machine was back in service after less than an hour.

Now I'm off to see if you can still buy these switches.

Speaking of, might anyone here in the fedi have any suggestions to #WashingMachine #troubleshooting guides? The machine in question is a ~2-4 year-old #Whirlpool. Really missing our old Whirlpool that was a workhorse for 35 years.
