The review in @GetCarter 's thread is one of those recycled quotes that actually comes from elsewhere according to Snopes; but lower in the thread people have suggested that the ticket sales for these places can be accounted for *entirely* by the news/magazine movie reviewers who did not have advance screenings.

Hamilton hits the big screen in Swansea to mark 10 years of Broadway smash

For three days only, the York Street venue — just off the bustling nightlife of Wind Street — will screen the production direct from New York’s Richard Rodgers Theatre, featuring the original cast led by creator Lin‑Manuel Miranda.

A decade of Hamilton

First staged in 2015, Hamilton tells the story of American founding father Alexander Hamilton through a groundbreaking score that blends hip‑hop, R&B, and traditional show tunes. Songs such as Alexander Hamilton and My Shot have become modern musical theatre classics, helping the show win multiple Tony Awards, a Grammy and the Pulitzer Prize for Drama.

The filmed version packs in more than 40 songs, offering theatre fans the chance to relive the full Broadway experience without leaving Swansea.

Vue’s big screen celebration

Robert Lea, Head of Screen Content at Vue UK and Ireland, said:

“Since it rocked the theatre world over 10 years ago, Hamilton has gone on to be a legendary musical that fans always eagerly want to see. At Vue this month, we’re thrilled to provide audiences a fantastic way to watch this iconic production, complete with the original Broadway cast, up on the big screen for a limited time.”

Tickets

Screenings run from today, Friday 26 September, until Sunday 28 September at Vue Swansea, York Street. Tickets are available now at www.myvue.com.
