I was so fortunate to have Karen Ritscher as my viola teacher and mentor through high school. Karen shaped generations of talented violists, not just as players but -- perhaps foremost -- as humans. She shepherded us all to be better, to question our setup, our habits, our musical choices, in the most welcoming class imaginable.

Rest in Peace, Karen, we will miss you, you will not be forgotten.
