Royton Manor had a #mediaeval chapel at one time, which may be where the #door was, or it might have been the entrance to the main house, which later became a farmhouse.

The skeleton of a #turtle or #tortoise complete with the control levers for the driver. Turtles look like they are normal creatures but actually have a small lizard that lives inside the shell operating the controls.

#DrakeloweHall - A rather large English #mansion with a history going back a thousand years, except it was demolished in 1934, and in the 1950s a power plant was built on the site.

Sir Nigel Gresley, steam locomotive designer, was a cousin to the family that lived here.
