One particular #WebDesign crime that ought to be punished with jail for One Thousand Years (!!!!) is when you scroll past a video, and then that video pops up again in a tiny, yet incredibly annoying window that you then have to close. I scrolled past your video because I didn’t want to watch it, bugger off! #UserHostileDesign

Months ago, the TTC replaced bus stop signs to show bus route changes after Line 5 opens. It says things have changed, no details, with a QR code to learn more.

I followed the QR code today. It goes to https://www.ttc.ca/. No details. No mention of Line 5 whatsoever.

Raise your hand if you’re surprised.

Wife got a new iMac M3 for work at her school. Newer is not always better. Impressions so far:
* It has no USB ports. My printer, keyboard, lights, and bluetooth headset can't connect to it. [USB hub is a separate purchase]
* And I now have a wireless mouse so I have to remember to charge the friggin' thing.
* Of course the default keyboard is microscopic and has no numpad.
* The keyboard is so tiny and unergonomic. My boobs keep my arms from comfortably settling on it.

used to happily pay for Evernote in a bygone era but @Evernote is on a terrible trajectory … defining the web as “device”… making the website unusable for free accounts if you also use the app on any (1!) device #moneygrab #userhostiledesign #desperation

I've open the Windows Photos app about 5 times accidentally in the last year.

I open Photoshop almost daily.

Can you guess which app shoots to the top of the results as I type "photos" in the Windows search box?

Grrr.

Just used a windows 11 start button for first time and jfc what did they do to it? Pinned apps that are all Microsoft apps, defaults to web searching, no longer showing you what’s installed but “recommended”. Why much every product remove previously initiative ux in order to push their own tracking bloat #windows #microsoft #userhostiledesign
Dear everybody, if you post links to your blog or other online content, and make the page unreadable with intrusive cookie demands and desperate newsletter sign up pleas, I will simply go elsewhere. And probably never return.#readability #cookies #userhostiledesign

Adobe: "Hey! Try this 'Share for review' feature! <Maybe later> / <Create link>"
Me: *ragefully looking for the <fuck off forever> button*
