Ok, serious question if anyone works in US banking. Why is it not possible to generate someone’s banking and investment tax forms on Jan 1st every year?

Why wait until mid-February for most of them?

Banks have no problem spitting out monthly statements within a day or two at the most. But it takes a month and a half for year-end tax forms?

I have got to be missing something big and obvious, right?
