#Everyone:
I happened to be reading and listening to podcast about the 'Great Vowel Shift' in English language. One of the effects of this was that in Shakespeare's times his lines did rhyme phonetically based on the pronunciation of words in his time, but after the vowel shift in our present English they only seem to be 'slant rhymes'. Take for example Shakespeare's sonnets. In Shakespeare's sonnets, there are examples of words that were pronounced differently during his time compared to modern pronunciation. One notable feature of the Shakespearean era was the use of a more pronounced vowel sound in certain words. For instance, in Shakespeare's time, the word "love" might have been pronounced with a longer vowel sound compared to how we say it today. Additionally, words like "heart" or "fair" may have had different vowel sounds in Shakespearean pronunciation. Speaking of Shakespeare, I also took a detour for the great BBC comedy show
#UpstartCrow where they imagine Shakespeare in light of modern context, this makes for great comedy and its produced by none other than BBC Great Britain...this is one of many examples that showcase the humility of the English, they are grounded enough to even poke fun on themselves (self-deprecating jokes) ergo the greatest Bard ever Shakespeare...
#IMHO its a lesson for those touchy-feely hypersensitive cry baby losers that can't take a little banter on social media and call for cancellation of these remarks / free speech labeling them as defamation. Also, a lesson for everyone, reminding us not to take ourselves too seriously, take a chill pill
#IMHO :)
