Driving home earlier this evening and caught this absolutely WILD #rainbow or possible #sundog that formed on the west face of the #Sacramento #Mountains in #NewMexico over Alamogordo underneath a thunderstorm on the mountain.
I believe that white dust is from White Sands National Park, which is to my left in this photograph. It seems to be reflected off of that. Wind was high.
Gorgeous.
Any #meteorologist here have a name for it?
You semi-regular encouraging announcement for folks who haven’t yet used Mastodon much—nothing happens overnight! And that’s ok.
You won’t find your community until you’ve been doing it a while. I’ve been on mastodon maybe 6 years and on this acct for a long time! I’m regularly here. So I have friends and see posts about all kinds of things. You won’t right away.
None of your existing networks or tool use skills happened quickly either.
