Muktinath to Marpha via the MTB trail - pure fun to finish this amazing trip.

This was such a careful and lucky trip: no injuries, no bike issues, noone was sick, we always had food and shelter, and no rain while we were cycling despite the monsun season starting. When going from Muktinath to Marpha, already in the lower Mustang affected by the monsun, the rain threat was there in the morning, but the sky cleared for us at the moment we start pedaling. I couldn't have asked for more!

Thorang La Pass 5416 m a.s.l.

Exactly three weeks ago I wrote: "The next three weeks will be about 400 km on two wheels, mostly at altitude between 3500 and 4000 meters, with a hopeful climb (with a bike) to 5400. I hope to wake up with the sun, sip tea while the first light hits snowy peaks, admire the landscape when pushing my bike uphill through wind and dust, and then fly down rocky trails with focus at 100%. And I hope to meet local people, talk in Nepali, dance and learn - about Nepal and about myself. I also expect to be tired, smelly, cold and probably nursing a few headaches—but that’s part of the deal."

I did almost all of that (Thorang La Pass was without a bike) and so, so much more.. I don't find words to describe how amazing this advanture was. Maybe my photos show it at least a little bit. I wish everyone the fun, the beauty, the kindness and the happiness that I experienced in the last three weeks in Mustang.

Tomorrow is the last riding day. This journey is ending. But, I hope it's not the end but a beautiful begining of new adventures.
