> The United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) voted overwhelmingly on Wednesday in favor of ending the decades-long US blockade against Cuba.

The resolution, supported by 165 member states, once again demonstrated the international community’s broad opposition to Washington’s economic, commercial, and financial siege on the island country, which has been in place for more than six decades.

Despite strong US lobbying ahead of the vote, only seven countries opposed the measure, while 12 abstained.
